A museum-grade find for the serious Disneyana collector. Up for sale is an exceptionally rare, original 1971/72 Mickey Mouse plush manufactured by California Stuffed Toys (Los Angeles). Based on the specific manufacturing details, this “Premium Tier” plush was produced for the Inaugural/Opening years of Walt Disney World and Disneyland in the early 1970s. Finding one of these in this condition is incredibly uncommon. It has never been played with and has spent the last 50+ years carefully stored. Key Collector Details. The Steel Snap Ring: Features the highly sought-after metal ring on the back of his velvet shorts, used exclusively in the early 70s “Park Tier” production to secure his corded tail. The cloth tush tag is also crisp and legible, showing the original 611 So. The back of the tag looks to have had a price tag on, which has faded as shown. Classic Details: Features the authentic early-70s 3D plastic “pie eyes”, deep yellow felt buttons, and the original pale yellow satin neck bow. Condition: New Old Stock / Deadstock condition. The black plush is deep, soft, and completely free of the matting or dust-clumping usually seen on toys of this age. The velvet shorts are vibrant. The paper tag has some minor, natural age-related creasing (please see close-up photos) but is fully intact and attached. A true investment piece of theme park history.
