Extremely Rare Walt Disney World Travel Desk Globe From 1975 LIMITED TO 1000. Globe shows the entire Walt Disney World grounds as they were originally in the 1970s. These globes were made and distributed in the early/mid 70s for Travel Agents who had graduated The College of Disney Knowledge. Only 1000 of these globes were ever produced, and surviving examples are extremely rare and hard to find. Walt Disney World opened on October 1st, 1971. This Limited Edition Globe Features the Magic Kingdom, Cinderellas Castle, Space Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Frontierland, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage, Mad Tea Party, Monorail, Jungle Cruise, Disneys Contemporary Resort, Disneys Polynesian Village Resort, Fort Wilderness, Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village (Disney Village Marketplace), the Golf Resort, Hotel Plaza Boulevard, Discovery Island, and more. Globe has some wear as pictured but is in excellent condition for its age (46 years). Globe is lightweight, Stands about 16 tall and about 13 wide. Another holy grail of Disney sign collectibles! Truly 1 of a kind Front Desk Registration sign from Disneys Polynesian Resort. Sign measures 44″ x 14″ by 1 1/2 and is made of wood. Like the other signs I listed, these were removed during the latest Polynesian refurb. The 2nd picture shows the new sign that replaced the one listed here.
