I found this at an old estate sale. It was inside a cigar box. This is the hard to get Bronze like metal Sword In The Stone medallion with the original purple ribbon from Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. This is different from the one from Disneyland. The ribbon is a thick woven like purple cloth instead of a thin ribbon and the metal medallion looks more like an actual bronze metal coin instead of plastic. This was given to the guest child who was chosen by Merlin to pull the sword from the stone during the ceremony in back of the castle at Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom. If you could pull the sword up you would become The Temporary Ruler of The Realm and be awarded this medallion from Merlin. He would then crown you and put a cape on you and place this medallion around your neck. These are not often offered and are a piece of Disney History. It is a heavy metal medal with the cloth purple ribbon.. It features Arthur on the front pulling the sword from the stone. The reverse of the medal features a crown and reads “Temporary Ruler of The Realm”, “Walt Disney World”. You can still see the sword in the stone in front of the carousel behind the castle at The Magic Kingdom. The Show is long gone and no medallion has been available for almost 39 years. The Medal is in good shape with some tarnishing since it is over 39 years old. I didn’t clean it since I wanted to keep it in its original condition. The medal has a vintage antique bronze metal look that has an aged look with some tarnishing. Please see the attached pictures of the actual item that you will receive.
