These were made in limited quantity a while ago in few different colours , all very hard to find in good condition now. She is in beautiful clean gently played with condition from a smoke and pet free home. She has her Walt Disney world fabric label on her upper leg which is still visible but a little frayed. Figment is the character icon for Epcot’s Journey Into Imagination. The original attraction opened on March 5, 1983. It began with the omnimover vehicles floating in the clouds and seeing the silhouette of a strange blimp mixed with a vacuum cleaner and hearing the humming and singing of its pilot. In the next scene the riders come right next to this vessel and the pilot, an old man with a red beard dressed in a blue suit and top hat, introduces himself as the Dreamfinder (Chuck McCann) and saying that he uses his vehicle (called the Dream Mobile or Dream Catcher by some fans) to collect dreams and ideas to create all sorts of new things. Soon he creates a figment of his imagination: two tiny wings, eyes big and yellow, horns of a steer, but a loveable fellow! From head to tail, he’s royal purple pigment, and there, voil! You’ve got a Figment! ” Both Dreamfinder and the dragon Figment (Billy Barty) imagine things to fill the “idea bag. ” When the idea bag is full, Dreamfinder declares that the ideas need to be emptied in the “Dreamport” which, as he says, is “never far away when you use your imagination. The omnimovers leave the side of the Dream Mobile and enter the Dreamports storage room, which includes a massive contraption for sorting ideas. Also in the room there are numerous objects including boxed applause, a plasma ball, and a birdcage of musical notes. After leaving the storage room, the ride continued through several rooms representing Art, Literature, the Performing Arts and Science. The Art room was mostly white colored, and had a large painting Dreamfinder was making using a large fiber optic paint brush, a carousel with giant carousel animals, and a pot of rainbows held by Figment. The Literature room was mostly focused on suspenseful tales and had Dreamfinder playing a massive organ with words coming out of it, words that turned into their meanings, a massive book featuring the raven from Edgar Allan Poes poem cawing menacingly, and books of horrible monsters Figment tried to keep closed. The Performing Arts had Figment trying on costumes backstage while Dreamfinder conducted a laser light show in the manner of an orchestra conductor. The last of the rooms, Science, featured a large machine that Dreamfinder was operating that took a closer look at the workings of nature such as the growth of plants, the formation of crystals from minerals and looking into space. At the end, Dreamfinder tells Figment and the audience that Imagination is the key to unlocking the hidden wonders of the world. The ride then enter the final show scene. Dreamfinder, who is behind a movie camera, gives the riders one last inspiring message and tells them to use their newly found sparks of imagination in the ImageWorks and the on-ride photo is shown on a screen next to the camera. The original Journey into Imagination attraction was the creation of Tony Baxter and Steve Kirk. The ride closed on October 10, 1998 in order to begin a major renovation of the attraction. So here is a RARE WALT DISNEY WORLD ORIGINAL PROP DOWNTOWN DISNEY LOT I SIGN aged used metal. Sign measures about 28 by 30 and has very good color for age. Downtown Disney parking lot sign was retired in 2015 when the shopping village was renamed Disney Springs. Downtown Disney opened on March 22, 1975, as the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village, a shopping complex intended to serve the planned residences within the Walt Disney World property. As the residential units evolved into more resort hotel space, the complex became more focused as a shopping destination for all Walt Disney World visitors, and was renamed Walt Disney World Village in 1977. With the advent of new management under Michael Eisner in the mid-1980s, Disney began looking for ways to keep vacationers on Walt Disney World property longer, and entice them with offerings to prevent them from leaving for entertainment beyond Disney’s borders. To compete with the popular Church Street Station clubs in downtown Orlando, Pleasure Island was announced on July 21, 1986. This expansion to the Village would feature highly themed, adults-only nightlife with unique clubs showcasing Disney’s quality and creativity. Construction began the following August, and Pleasure Island opened on May 1, 1989 exactly the same day as the Disney’s Hollywood Studios. That same year, the Walt Disney World Village was once again renamed to the Disney Village Marketplace to reflect the ever-changing nature of the area. In the mid-1990s, the growth of Walt Disney World once again created the potential for expansion of the offerings around Village Lake at Pleasure Island and the Disney Village Marketplace. On June 20, 1995, major enhancements and expansions were announced for the area. The Disney Village Marketplace and Pleasure Island would be folded into a newly-branded district called Downtown Disney. On September 7, 1997, the Disney Village Marketplace was renamed one more time, to Downtown Disney Marketplace. Which opened on April 12, 1992 at Disneyland Resort Paris. Which opened on July 7, 2000, at the Tokyo Disney Resort. A fifth version is planned to open at the most recent Disney destination, Hong Kong Disneyland. On September 27, 2008, all of the Pleasure Island night clubs closed as part of a larger refurbishment of Downtown Disney, in order to make room for new shopping and dining offerings. Formerly known as the Disney Village Marketplace, the area contains many shops and restaurants. Cap’n Jack’s Marina. Offers boat rentals for use on Village Lake. Groundbreaking ran behind schedule, but construction finally began in October 2007. Construction was completed in early October 2008 and the restaurant opened on October 14, 2008.
