The three men of the expedition, called “Three Damn Fools, ” were Sullivan Richardson, Arnold Whitaker and Kenneth C. As Richardson recounts in his “Adventure South” the three men braced storm, crime, animals and insane adventures in their 14,000 mile journey. Despite ridiculous and improbably odds they succeeded in making it from Detroit to Cape Horn in South America–and survived to tell the tale, the entirety of which is told visually here, through the signatures and stamps on this unique piece.
